Opening the DANCE season of the Teatro Sociale in Como on 24 October is Giselle, one of the world's best-loved ballets. Staging the famous masterpiece to the music of Adolphe Adam will be the Ballet of the Theatre of Tbilisi, one of Europe's best-known companies.

Andrea Chénier

Giordano's Andrea Chénier staged by the Teatro Sociale di Como will be directed by Andrea Cigni, the sets will be by Dario Gessati and the costumes by Tommaso Lagattolla. Conducting the Orchestra dei Pomeriggi Musicali di Milano will return Maestro Francesco Pasqualetti. The opera will feature an exceptional cast! Angelo Villari will play the title role, Angelo Veccia will be Carlo Gérard and Maria Teresa Leva will play the role of Maddalena di Coigny.

PUCCINI’S OPERA. Women’s voices

Monica Casadei's new creation for the Company Artemis Danza is dedicated to four fascinating heroines of the composer Giacomo Puccini whose centenary since his death falls: Tosca, Madama Butterfly, Mimì and Turandot. In the four paintings that make up Puccini's Opera, we find Casadei's personal interpretation of the female theme placed at the centre of a process of choreographic, visual and musical reinterpretation.

Rigoletto

For its third opera date, the Sociale chooses one of Verdi's best-loved titles: Rigoletto. The direction is entrusted to Matteo Marziano Graziano, a young avant-garde opera director known for his innovative and transformative artistic approach. On the podium will return one of the most important Italian conductors of his generation, Maestro Alessandro D'Agostini. Interpreting Gilda will be Bianca Tognocchi from Como, winner of the AsLiCo Competition in past editions.
