On the occasion of the centenary of Giacomo Puccini’s death
The creative team of this production is the winner of the call dedicated to under-35s for the selection of a directing project for Puccini’s La bohème within the 24-25 Season, on the occasion of the centenary of the death of the composer from Lucca, promoted by OperaLombardia in co-production with Teatro Regio di Parma and I Teatri di Reggio Emilia, in collaboration with Opera Europa, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Regione Lombardia, Fondazione Cariplo.
In La Bohème – the memory box, the story unfolds through the eyes of an elderly Rodolfo, an artist who arrives from the future and finds a memory box containing some objects from the happiest period of his youth. Each of us, regardless of age, jealously guards certain memories. These become a safe haven in which to seek comfort when we feel lost, allowing us to keep in mind who we are and what changes have influenced our personal history.
