Così fan tutte closes the Mozart-Da Ponte triptych in Mario Martone's memorable stagings: the legendary version of Mozart's great masterpiece staged in Naples in 1999 will be presented.
Andrea Chénier
Giordano's Andrea Chénier staged by the Teatro Sociale di Como will be directed by Andrea Cigni, the sets will be by Dario Gessati and the costumes by Tommaso Lagattolla. Angelo Villari will play the title role, Angelo Veccia will be Carlo Gérard and Maria Teresa Leva will play the role of Maddalena di Coigny.
Rigoletto
For its third opera date, the Sociale chooses one of Verdi's best-loved titles: Rigoletto. The direction is entrusted to Matteo Marziano Graziano, a young avant-garde opera director known for his innovative and transformative artistic approach. On the podium will return one of the most important Italian conductors of his generation, Maestro Alessandro D'Agostini. Interpreting Gilda will be Bianca Tognocchi from Como, winner of the AsLiCo Competition in past editions.
I Capuleti e i Montecchi
Based on the Shakespearian tragedy, I Capuleti e i Montecchi composed by Vincenzo Bellini will be directed by Sebastiano Rolli. The staging of this new production will be by Andrea De Rosa: an assiduous frequenter of twentieth-century theatre, the director will cast his eye over Shakespeare's tragedy as a fine interpreter not only of opera titles but also of prose shows. The co-production will involve not only the theatres of OperaLombardia, but also the Fondazione I Teatri di Reggio Emilia.
