The Ninth Symphony by Ludwig van Beethoven turns 200 years old and is considered the monument of music of all times. Composed between 1822 and 1824, it immediately appeared as a revolutionary masterpiece, not only because of the voices and the choir, but also because of its political message, which also holds true today: Enlightenment joy felt as a vital impulse, an optimistic commitment to overcome one’s selfishness in a brotherhood of humanity. Through its four movements, this symphony is a grand journey from darkness to light, the passage from a state of anguish, frenzy, breathlessness, through hope, sweetness, to joy.

The execution at the Teatro Sociale Como will feature the AsLiCo Choir, the Canova Chamber Orchestra and four young soloists conducted by Maestro Enrico Saverio Pagano.
