BACK TO DANCE
Artistic Director and Choreographer Giulia Staccioli
with Gian Mattia Baldan, Matteo Battista, Giulio Crocetta, Carolina Cruciani, Eleonora Guerrieri, Sara Palumbo
Kataklò Athletic Dance Theatre, the main physical theatre Italian Company, returns to the scene praising the restart: we are Back to Dance!
Giulia Staccioli, together with the active artistic contribution of the six dancers on stage, signs a performance that combines different, unreleased and repertory fragments, bearers of a message of hope: “Let us pick up all the pieces, rebuild, regenerate, show ourselves to be new, but always true to ourselves. In short, let us dance again!”
Back to dance takes place in a single act covering four different stages: humanity, mythology, heroism, lightness. It tells the dancers’ return to the stage after a universally shared experience. In their legs is the desire to start again, an instinct that is continually curbed, hindered, made more and more complex by circumstances.
The show wants to offer a positive interpretation: playing with the irony, energy and intensity typical of Kataklò style, Back to Dance gives voice to the needs and desires that have united us in the last period, like walking freely among people, letting the flow carry us, feeling part of a whole that moves decisively in the same direction, an embrace…
The athleticism and poetry that have made the company an ambassador of Made in Italy in the world, return to the stage to captivate and spread vitality. Perspectives have inevitably changed, but the language remains the same.
